Efficient communication is one of the most significant features in business. It actually maintains a strong relationship between an employee and leader and also helps to take effective decisions in businesses. There are several types of communication barriers that company faces during the new normal like physiological, emotional, cultural, organisational structural, perception and so on. As per the idea of Giaoutzi and Stratigea, (2019) physical barriers is the most obvious and easily removable barrier. The employees of this company are mainly hesitant to use public transport during the pandemic situation.

Organisation structure is the most important for successfully running the businesses in the international market. As per the ideas of Guo et al.(2019) company's attitude and behaviour to their employers are important in order to maintain the workforce. During the pandemic situation social distancing is important for every individual. The employees of this company are mainly worried about the social distancing and the lack of ventilation in their workplace. The employees are also tense about the daily sanitization process, safety and security process. Another important barrier is the perceptual barrier. According to Jiang et al.(2019) this barrier is regarded as the mental blocks of the employee and it also creates internal biases. Perception barriers also interconnected with the psychological barriers. Various types of perception lead to the disruption of effective communication. Knowledge of the perception levels of employees is important in the effective communication process. There are various types of perception like personal experience, beliefs, preferences and so on. Most of the employees who are not fully vaccinated are worried about the discrimination from their service. The employees who are fully vaccinated are worried about the interaction with other employees who are not vaccinated. This actually creates a mental dilemma in the employees and this also affects effective communication.

Interpersonal barriers are another important factor in effective communication that may be defined as the ones present outside. There are several external elements that are also connected with the interpersonal barriers like the attitude of superiors, stereotyping, credibility, semantic problems and so on. As per the ideas of Ranjan et al.(2019) relationship between two employees and the employees and between the employees and leader is important in order to achieve the success. The employees of Brit-tech are basically thought to have lost their interpersonal skills during the lockdown phase. They're also nervous about engaging with other employees of the company.

Strategies to overcome the barriers:

The company is mainly taking several strategies to overcome the communication barriers. As per the ideas of Alamet al.(2019) understanding the employee's problems, emotional state, reduction of noises, active listening, flexibility in meeting is important in order to overcome the communication barriers. The leaders or the managers of company must have to communicate properly with their employees and also motivate and support their employees. The company creates a no discrimination policies during the new normal phase. The company is mainly focused on the employee's safety and security. The company provides masks and introduces a proper sanitization process in their office.

The company also focused on physical distancing. They are actually divided their employees in two different groups in order to maintain the physical distance. The employees must have to come to the office for two days in a week and they also continue work from home for the rest of the two days. The company also creates a free vaccination program for their employees to overcome health related issues. The company also provides a transport for their employees. The company will run a bus to pick up their employees from their house and also drop them off after office. The managers or the mentors are now focusing on improving the interpersonal skills of the employees. The mentors mainly share some motivational videos to their employees and also listen to their problems carefully. Problem solving is an important factor for the managers to retain the potential employees of the company (Ameliradet al. 2020). The mentors are now focused on the group meeting and allows every employee to give their opinion on a particular matter. This will increase the employee engagement and also reduce the employees' mental hazard.

  • The company must have to motivate and support their employees to develop their interpersonal skills in the new normal phase.
  • The company must have to notice the employee's mental and physical condition.
  • The company also maintains physical distance in their workplace to overcome the health-related issues.
  • The company must create a free vaccination service for their employees as soon as possible.
  • The company also has to run a bus for its employees to avoid public transport in this pandemic situation.
